The Center on Religion & the Professions works to improve the religious literacy of professionals, to help them serve a diverse public.


We help professionals better understand religion in the lives of those they serve by:

•   Supporting ground-breaking research on how religion impacts people and encouraging its use by the appropriate professionals;
•   Creating resources and training to improve the religious literacies among professionals;
•   Developing and testing curriculum in religion for all disciplines;
•   Presenting public forums and other activities to increase the visibility of religion in the public sphere.

ASR is an international scholarly association that advances theory and research in the sociology of religion.

BBC Religion & Ethics
The British Broadcasting Corporation provides original web features and links to religion news from around the world.

Hartford Institute
The institute provides social scientific religion research information that is helpful for religious leaders and the general public.

MU Libraries Subject Guide: Religious Studies
This collection includes encylopedias, books, journals, organizations, listervs, and other resources.

Pluralism Project
The Pluralism Project at Harvard University studies and documents the growing religious diversity of the United States.

Religion & Ethics Newsweekly
This PBS show covers the week's news events that have religious or ethical significance.

Religion in Public Life Project
The Pew Charitable Trusts invest in surveys, research, and other initiatives that explore the role of religion in various aspects of American society.

Society for the Scientific Study of Religion
SSSR encourages multidisciplinary, scientific research on religious institutions and religious experience.
